Worshiping God is much more than lifting your hands up

Worshiping God is more than lifting your hands up

Okay... maybe I'm trying to start a controversial discussion... or not... but whatever the case is, I want you guys to know that worshiping God, being in the Spirit, feeling God's presence is much more than lifting/raising your hands up.  Some people do so because they think it is the right thing to do in God's Presence, others because they see people doing so, others, for many more wrong reasons.

Fact #1...
That you're lifting up your hands does not mean that you're in the Spirit, and someone raising his/her hand up is not necessarily more holy, righteous or in a better relationship with God than you.
God looks at the heart, something we (every human) cannot do, so don't lift up your hands because people are or because you want to be seen as righteous or as deep as someone, God frowns upon that... that is called Hypocrisy.

What am I getting at?
Don't go around lifting/raising your hands up when you're in fellowship and singing if you're not led or convicted and genuinely doing so in humble adoration and awe of God. Don't do so to seem "holy"... don't!!!

One more time, worshiping God is so much deeper than lifting up your hands. Why? Because you don't have to lift up your hands up to experience and enjoy God's presence, to give Him the praise He deserves, and all the other reasons for worship.

How do you enjoy God's presence?
Focus on Him completely. Close your eyes (if you need to), sing Him praises from your heart and enjoy it when He comes close and fills you up. It is a wonderful feeling. Be still and know that He is God. Do not let the people or things around you distract you from your intimate encounter with God.

Give God the praise He deserves (with or without lifted hands)
You can (and should) worship God at all times of the day... and night.
Don't get me wrong, I've gotten the need and have lifted my hands randomly before because I felt in my spirit the need to glorify God at some random time in the day... for anything be it small or big. Other times, I say "Thank You God". Either way, whatever you do, as long as it honors God and you don't feel like you're holding back from God, do it.

SUMMARY:
Worship God from and with your heart, don't limit it to your hands... use your legs, mouth, eyes, skills, gifts, tithes, words, etc. You were created for worship.
